James joined the Hope Mortgage Team of Finance of America Mortgage in 2001 and has aggressively climbed through the ranks to be one of their top Mortgage Originators. He brings a very different attitude and perspective to the mortgage industry, where he says “The ‘norm’ just isn’t good enough for me or my clients, we both deserve the best, and I’ll settle at nothing less than being #1 and helping my clients achieve THE AMERICAN DREAM, homeownership & financial security!”
James attended Penn State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel, Restaurant, & Institutional Management. James brings an extensive background of hospitality and customer service skills from his previous career with Marriott International. He spent several years with Marriott in Vail, Co, Williamsburg, VA, and Washington DC. His unique perspective and outlook on helping others gives him a definite advantage in dealing with his client’s unique situations and needs.
James is an active member of the Harleysville Jaycees. The Jaycees are responsible for raising and donating roughly $40,000 a year which helps to fund a large majority of the non-profit organizations in the local area, predominately the SAC Center (Seniors Center, located in Harleysville, PA) and the Harleysville Community Center (Harleysville Pool, Baseball & Soccer Fields), which is privately run and funded by the community. In addition to being a member, he also sponsors their events under the Hope Mortgage Team.
If you were to ask James what exactly he does, he would share the following:
“I’m a Mortgage Planner, as a mortgage planner I assist my clients with their financial needs now and for the future by keeping them perpetually qualified to buy the home of their dreams. In addition I make sure they are positioned to take advantage of any market opportunities for refinancing. One of the most important things I do is assist my clients by creating a plan to prepare them for life changing events such as, child birth, college tuition, real estate purchases, loss of a job, death of a spouse, retirement, etc. I have a network of other top professionals that assist me with any area of expertise that falls out side of my services.”
With his past restaurant experience, it is not uncommon to find James cooking in the kitchen expanding upon his passion for great food & wines, or hosting a dinner party with friends & family. Weekends you’ll find James in the Poconos hiking, target shooting, or exploring the miles of trails in his Polaris Ranger. It is also a common practice of his to just relax by a blazing fire listening to music.
