Gavin has been in the mortgage business for over 10 years and has built a solid reputation as someone who can get even the toughest loans done. Brokers and lenders from other banks regularly refer customers to him that have a financial profile that is just too complex for them to underwrite.
He works with all sorts of clients on a mostly referral basis, i.e. First Time Homebuyers, Property Investors, High Net Worth and even those that are credit challenged.
This makes him an expert in Jumbo Loans and Self Employed borrowers as these are the most difficult types of loans to fund. He has the underwriting, experience and technical knowledge necessary to be able to analyze the most complex tax returns or tricky scenario.
Unlike most Mortgage Originators, Gavin is licensed in many states that have desirable retirement and vacation home destinations like Maui in Hawaii, Scottsdale in Arizona, Palm Springs in California and the Oregon Coast. This also makes him a specialist in Vacation Home Loans.
As Branch Manager, he is responsible to train and support a team of 15 originators and processors in Kirkland. On a regional level, Gavin also uses his expertise to provide support to a network of other PCM branches. Gavin was an early addition to Pinnacle in the Northwest and has been with the company for over 4 years.
Gavin grew up in the great Pacific Northwest and still lives in Seattle and spends his free time staying active and playing recreational sports like softball and volleyball. He graduated Magna cum Laude with a BA in Linguistics and Philosophy from the University of Washington in 2001. He also speaks fluent Spanish and passable Italian, Portuguese, French Greek, Japanese & Arabic.

Frequently Asked Questions
The total number of properties you may look at will depend on several factors, such as your budget and the housing availability in your area. In general, real estate agents recommend that homebuyers look at several properties before making a decision, but there is not an exact number. Most people look at 10 homes, at a minimum, so they can compare them. However, you may find the dream house with more or fewer searches.
When it comes to the best home buying tips, there are different ways to search for properties. Statistics from the National Association of REALTORS® reveal that 51 percent of buyers searched and found their homes on the internet, while 30 percent used real estate agents. Other ways to search for homes include asking friends, relatives, neighbors and homebuilders for help. A small percentage of homebuyers used newspaper advertisements and yard or open house signs to search for homes.
Although a pre-approval is not one of the required steps to buying a house, it can certainly help you stand out in a competitive market with many buyers. A pre-approval can show sellers that you’re serious and capable of getting a mortgage, so they may be more likely to accept your offer.
