About Me

I was away from the mortgage business for several years and recently re-joined Finance of America Mortgage.  I was the first employee at Finance of America Mortgage back in 1996.

I spent 15 years originating mortgage loans at Absolute but left to pursue other personal and business goals. In that time away, I realized how much I enjoyed advising and helping people buy or finance their homes.  And how much I missed the team here at Finance of America Mortgage.

With over 30 years combined experience in mortgage lending and real estate, I have assisted many hundreds of people in the pursuit of their personal goals, to either buy or refinance a home.  But I try to never lose track of the fact that the process of obtaining a mortgage or buying a home, can be the biggest financial decision people ever make.

My focus and approach with clients is to be consultative. To listen, learn, and develop an understanding of their unique personal objectives. I try to provide my clients with information and understanding of their process.  Removing uncertainty or confusion and enabling them to make their best choice, is my priority.

I was born here in the Northwest; but my family relocated to the Midwest when I was in elementary school.  I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, went to high school and college in the Midwest.  My family moved back to the Northwest in the late 80’s and I raised my kids here.

I live in Snoqualmie and enjoy biking, hiking, sports of all kinds (more watching than doing these days) and spending time with my family.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many properties should I look at?

The total number of properties you may look at will depend on several factors, such as your budget and the housing availability in your area. In general, real estate agents recommend that homebuyers look at several properties before making a decision, but there is not an exact number. Most people look at 10 homes, at a minimum, so they can compare them. However, you may find the dream house with more or fewer searches.

What is the best way to search for homes?

When it comes to the best home buying tips, there are different ways to search for properties. Statistics from the National Association of REALTORS® reveal that 51 percent of buyers searched and found their homes on the internet, while 30 percent used real estate agents. Other ways to search for homes include asking friends, relatives, neighbors and homebuilders for help. A small percentage of homebuyers used newspaper advertisements and yard or open house signs to search for homes.

Should I get pre-approval before making an offer?

Although a pre-approval is not one of the required steps to buying a house, it can certainly help you stand out in a competitive market with many buyers. A pre-approval can show sellers that you’re serious and capable of getting a mortgage, so they may be more likely to accept your offer.
